Chemung mine, Bridgeport, CA

The Chemung Mine, discovered in 1909 near Bridgeport, California, was once a small-scale gold mine with a mill and some infrastructure. After years of legal troubles, it was rebuilt several times, but by 1938 most serious mining had stopped. Today its rusting mill foundations, open trenches, and collapsed structures mark the site.
