Scranton Lace Factory, Scranton, PA
The Scranton Lace Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania was founded in 1890 and operated one of the largest lace manufacturing facilities in the world. The complex produced lace, tablecloths, napkins, and other textiles, and even housed its own bowling alley, theater, and gym for workers. After being closed it left behind a vast industrial space filled with machinery and traces of daily life on the factory floor.
